The ICL would like to announce you incoming activities of ICL, IPL and KLC2020.

New open access book series will be launched at WLF5.
The ICL proposed the Kyoto Landslide Commitment 2020 (KLC2020) in May 2017, and KLC2020 and its
secretariat were launched in November 2020. The KLC2020 secretariat has expended efforts to create a new Open Access Book Series “Progress in Landslide Research and Technology” as a key tool for the implementation of the KLC2020. The book series will be launched at the high-level panel discussion on 3
November 2021 during the WLF5 in Kyoto, Japan.

2021 IPL project proposals will be called by 15 December 2021.

2022 IPL-KLC2020 Hybrid Conference will be organized on 14-16 March 2022 in Kyoto, Japan.
Presentation of new IPL project proposals, reports of ongoing IPL Projects and WCoEs, and research/investigation/activity reports by the ICL members and KLC2020 partners are called. Those presentations will be invited to contribute to the Progress in Landslide Research and Technology.

Application of the travel support (500-1500 USD for each ICL full member) to the ICL-IPL-KLC2020
meetings in November 2021 and March 2022 is called.

Item 1 and Item 2 Practical application of original scientific findings, technology, equipment, and modelling for landslide disaster risk reduction which were published in the Journal “Landslides” or any other publication.
New Open Access Book Series “Progress in Landslide Research and Technology” will be launched on 3 International Consortium on Landslides
November 2021. All ICL members (full member, associate members, and supporters) are invited to contribute IPL project/WCoE activity reports, case studies, practical application of original scientific papers published in the Journal “Landslides” or any other publication. Anybody may access and download any article or the whole book free of charge, whereas the authors will need to pay a book processing charge (current plan).

published in print (Print-ISSN: 2731-3794) and in digital (e-book-ISSN: 2731-3808

Item 3 New IPL project proposals are presented in BOR/ICL each year except the year of WLF.
No time is shared for it during the WLF5. We will call for 2021 IPL project proposal by 15 December
2021. The proposals will be presented in the 2022 IPL-KLC Conference on 15 March 2022 in DPRI, Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan. Please fill and submit A3 Project proposal form by 15 December 2021 to: ICL network <icl-network@iclhq.org> and ICL secretariat <secretariat@iclhq.org>

    Service (OCS) by 15 December 2021
  • Presentations on 15-16 March 2022 will be invited to contribute to the Progress in Landslide Research and Technology in the founding issues in 2022

Item 5 Travel support
The inputs/opinions/suggestion by ICL full members are critically important for planning and decision of
the BOR (Board of representatives) of the ICL, the Global Promotion Committee of the IPL, and also
KLC2020. A travel support of 500-1500 USD will be allocated to each ICL full member organization
based on the submitted A4 Travel support form.
